Solo Housing is really looking forward to welcoming supporters to join their Tractor Run to take place on Sunday 24th April 2022.
At 10.30am 30 tractors will be setting off on a 17 mile trip; starting at Wortham Long Green and will proceed through Redgrave, Bressingham, Diss (via Factory Lane down to St Nicholas Street and through the Market Place), going up through the Heywood to end their trip at The Fighting Cocks Winfarthing at approximately 1pm, where there will be a hog roast and sandwiches for the hungry drivers.
The cost to enter a tractor is £12 – which includes the refreshments at the Fighting Cocks and a donation to Solo Housing.
The tractor run is taking place to raise awareness of the vital work undertaken everyday by Solo Housing, helping and supporting single people who need help with housing in South Norfolk and other parts of Norfolk and Suffolk.
The pandemic and current economic challenges have resulted in a significant increase in the number of single people seeking help to obtain accommodation in South Norfolk.
Quote from Carolyn Howell MBE CEO ‘Thanks very much to Denis Worby, Jerry Cotter & Tina Theobald for arranging this Tractor Run. We are always looking for ways to raise awareness of the issues faced by single people, who are homeless or in need of accommodation in rural areas. Its vital that local charities like us continue to provide practical help and support for people in housing need , working in partnership with the local authorities and a wide range of other agencies in the area. As a small charity we are able to provide targeted and person-centred support to those who approach us, and we have an excellent staff team working every day to help single people find housing solutions.
We look forward to welcoming people to come along on 24th April either to wave the tractor drivers off at Wortham, to see us as we pass through Diss town centre at around 12 noon or come along at 1pm to The Winfarthing Fighting Cocks to say hello and enjoy some refreshments.
