“Serjay” is one of the few residents to return to us for support and temporary accommodation.
Solo supported him a few years ago with his alcohol dependency. He left when he was in sobriety to be in a relationship and finally get married.
He was in recovery for several years when his marriage broke down and he left the relationship. He had relapsed and needed help.
Serjay was sign posted to CGL (Change, Grow, Live) an agency who specialises in addictions. He involved himself on a short course, once a week for four weeks, called The Joy of Food to refresh his cooking skills. This was provided free of charge by Norfolk County Council and delivered at the OPO project. Ingredients were also provided for the participants who were able to produce a couple of dishes each week as a main meal and could also be frozen to have another day. Currently going through a divorce, Serjay continues to be alcohol dependent and through working with his support worker, has started recovery again.
