Housing Management Officer
Services – Housing Related Supported accommodation, shared housing, and general needs
Reporting to – Housing Services Manager
Permanent subject to probation period
- Overall role objective:
- Provide full housing management service to all residents of Solo Housing, including
- Allocation and letting of tenancies and licences
- Accommodation standards and safety checks
- Rent collection
- Tenancy sustainment
- Performance reporting on voids and rent collection
- Administration of the Property Management and Case Management systems
- Source, liaison and completion of landlord lease and housing management agreements in conjunction with Solo Housing Building Surveyor
- Identifying property compliance audit risks and reporting to line manager
- Completing property safety checks & any identified remedial actions
- Main duties and responsibilities:
- Lead on carrying out a full housing management service to all Solo Housing residents across the Housing Related Support services, Shared Housing services, General Housing and Private Sector services.
- Provide an efficient service to maximise the rental income and increase tenancy sustainment.
- Work collaboratively with the Support Teams and the Property Services Manager to provide an efficient lettings service.
- Work collaboratively with the Support Teams and the Finance Team to support tenancy sustainment.
- Support the Building Surveyor to negotiate and arrange new lease agreements and or housing management agreements with investors and other agencies.
- Contribute to any management system to enable the monitoring of available lets, rent collection, tenancy sustainment, stock condition, access/key management, providing regular and meaningful updates to the Housing Services Manager.
- Ensuring any tenancy / Licence agreements and enforcement action follows relevant legal process, including representing Solo Hosing in court.
- Providing timely and accurate data on housing management status and actions required.
- Contribute to the development or review of policies and written procedures in connection with housing management.
- Meet all relevant prescribed targets and provide performance management information efficiently and effectively.
- Promote and contribute to the involvement of residents across Solo Housing to ensure their voice is heard.
- Follow the Solo Housing Complaints Policy and Procedure.
- Take part in an out of office hours on-call rota.

- Relevant experience in relation to the main duties of the role:
- Delivering housing management service for a regulated housing provider, including allocations, lets and rents
- Experience of working with private sector rental market
- Experience of representing the organisation at court
- Awareness of current housing issues
- Proven office administrative & coordination experience
- Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Proficient in MS Office packages, computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
- Proficient in use of accounting systems such as Xero, data and other management systems.
- Work Experience/Background:
- Working in a housing management environment
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience of using management systems/databases
- Experience in teamwork and partnership work
- Experience of resident involvement and customer service
- Experience with external contractors

Terms and conditions:
- Working week 37.5 hours Monday to Friday

- Salary range – starting at £23,914 Rising to £26,323 via an incremental appraisal system
- Employer pension contribution 8%
- Annual leave starting at 28 days per annum plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 2 full years in employment

- This role requires frequent travel across East Anglia and therefore the post holder must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle to undertake duties.
