Thank you, Diss Cyclathon Team!

Thanks to the Diss Cyclathon team, Solo Housing has taken delivery of two bicycles to enable residents to enjoy a cycle ride on the local country lanes or to get to appointments where they do not have other transport.
Carolyn Howell MBE CEO of Solo Housing said ‘Some of our residents have expressed an interest in taking up cycling to enjoy the local countryside and take up physical activity again. Exercise is helpful in the recovery process, makes people feel better and helps to build up confidence. Our residents do not generally have their own transport, so a bicycle will also help them to get around the local area. We are very grateful to the Diss Cyclathon team for their donation which has enabled us to purchase second-hand cycles and cycling safety equipment.’
Alan Franks, one of the organisers of Diss Cyclathon, said “The support we’ve had from riders and local businesses in and around Diss is amazing and has helped us raise many thousands of pounds at Diss Cyclathon over the four years we’ve been running it. Helping people get out on bikes is why we do it and we’re delighted to support Solo Housing in getting some bikes for their residents.”
