SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCY PROTOCOL (SWEP)

Emergency arrangements are initiated when the night time temperature is predicted to be zero degrees or below for three consecutive nights. The protocol may also apply in the event of other exceptional adverse weather conditions.

When SWEP is in place, the Housing Solutions Team at all local authorities seek to ensure that no one has to sleep rough, including those without recourse to public funds.
