By Carl Jones and Fiona Carling on 10.7.19
This event will be held on Friday 6th September 2019 10:00 to 18:00. Venue: Nowton Park, Bury Road, Nowton, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 5BD
Last years tournament was a great success, aided by support from Genesis Housing. So we are happy that we have, once again, teamed up with Bruce Wright from the STARS team at Genesis, to arrange The Homeless and Recovery Champions League, which is a 6 a side tournament. We are also delighted to have the offer of support from Chris at Orwell Housing. There will be varied local organisations attending the event including; homeless services, drug & alcohol services and the police, to name but a few.
There will be food and refreshments provided throughout the day, including a barbeque.
It is open to staff, clients and residents. Don't worry if you cannot " bend it like Beckham" it is open to all abilities, ages, male or female (go lionesses!)
We hope that the Mayor of St Edmundsbury will join us again, to hand out the trophies at the end of the day.
This event is held, not only to promote homelessness and recovery services and the amazing work they do across Norfolk and Suffolk, but it is also an enjoyable day for all the service users who get involved, and helps to build confidence and increase wellbeing.
