Landlords

We are always keen to hear from landlords who want to rent out a spare room and who are interested in participating in our lodgings scheme.

If I have a spare room I would like to rent out, what do I do?

We keep a register of landlords/ladies in the following local authority areas:

• Babergh District Council
• Breckland District Council
• Broadland District Council
• South Norfolk District Council

Once you contact us, we will arrange to come and meet you, assess your property for suitability, and discuss the type of lodger you are looking for. We offer:

• Advice and guidance on the health and safety responsibilities of being a residential landlord
• Information on the legal and tax implications of becoming a residential landlord, including official documentation
• Support and advice during a placement

Once we have registered your details, we will seek to find you a suitable tenant who matches your profile. We will always check with you before we hand out your details, and the final responsibility for accepting or rejecting a lodger remains with you.
